 |
| As part of their tour of six countries in South America, the U.S. urban music group AFAR visited Bolivia and gave 3 concerts in La Paz, Cochabamba and Santa Cruz. |
U.S. hip-hop music band AFAR will visit Bolivia for three concerts in La Paz, Cochabamba and Santa Cruz under the program The Rhythm Road: American Music Abroad. This cultural program is a partnership between Jazz at Lincoln Center (JALC) and the U.S. Department of State Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. The Rhythm Road, designed to foster cultural exchange with audiences worldwide, is currently taking AFAR to a tour in six South American countries.
AFAR is an instrumental hip-hop band with jazz, R&B, and gospel influences. Committed to pushing the boundaries of the way hip-hop defines itself, the group focuses on three concepts: live music, unity, and education. Through performances, recordings, and educational workshops both in the United States and abroad, the band seeks to spread the message that in this age of electronic music, live instrumental performance remains the source of it all.
AFAR is: Marc Baldwin, guitar; Jason Berry, vocals; Demonsterious Lawrence, bass; and Che Marshall, drums.
