AGRICULTURE PROJECT Summary of Goals and Objectives| Project Purpose | Male and female rural Bolivian small-scale agricultural producers will raise their standard of living by improving and/or implementing various techniques that will increase their family’s health and income.
| Goal 1 PLANTS | Community members will learn and adopt techniques to improve household nutrition and family income generation potential by increasing agricultural production. Volunteers and their work partners will: train 1000 community members in integrated agricultural techniques and integrated pest management practices train 1000 community members in commercially viable alternative rotational crops train 500 small-scale agricultural producers on transformation of plant products
| Goal 2 ANIMALS | Community members will receive training and apply beekeeping, fisheries, and animal husbandry techniques that increase household nutrition and family income generation. Volunteers and their work partners will: - train 1000 community members in beekeeping, honey production and marketing, and elaboration of hive byproducts
- train 500 community members in fish farming and marketing
- train 500 community members in large and small animal husbandry techniques
- train 500 small-scale agricultural producers on transformation of animal products (beef jerky, cheese, yogurt, ham, etc.)
| Goal 3 MARKETS | Small-scale agricultural producers will increase family income through implementing improved agribusiness and marketing practices. Volunteers and their work partners will: - train 500 agricultural producers in basic agribusiness and marketing practices
- train 250 community members in basic mathematical procedures used to calculate costs of production, bookkeeping, analyze price cycles, trends, inflation
