Peace Corps Volunteers Teach English and Computer Skills

On February 1, U.S. Ambassador Philip S. Goldberg visited Peace Corps Volunteers Donovan Kessler and Christopher Yanaga to learn about their support for the Comunidad de Libertad y Esperanza de la Mujer (CLEM) in Montero.  Within the framework of the Peace Corps "Micro-Enterprise Development and Information Communication Technology" program, the volunteers are teaching computer education and English classes to low-income women and their families.  The goal is for CLEM's members to improve the marketing and management of sales of their handicrafts.  Mr. Yanaga supports the design of new web-pages, electronic spreadsheets for bookkeeping, research via the Internet, and communication processes.
