Peace Corps / Bolivia
Since its creation in 1961, the Peace Corps’ mission has been to promote peace and friendship. Our goals are:
Providing technical assistance through the work of volunteers, so that the peoples can meet their basic needs.
Helping promote a better understanding of Americans on the part of the peoples served.
Providing Americans an opportunity to understand other peoples and cultures.
We support the Bolivian people through training and some small projects in five work areas: Basic Sanitation, Micro-Business Development, Natural Resources/Environmental Education, Integrated Education, and Agriculture.
We are proud of our volunteers’ work and of the impact and achievements they made during this year, as they cooperated with the Bolivian people and institutions. These volunteers are the backbone of the Peace Corps in Bolivia, since our re-entry into the country in 1990.
We thank the support and friendship that Bolivian communities have given us as well as the institutions and agencies that have welcomed our volunteers.
